Keeping the Catskill Weird
If you know Derek Curl, you know he whole asses everything he does—The Garden Soiree is no exception.
Following the passing of a dear friend to the community, a non-profit was setup in their honor to raise funds for local music education and support the community in his memory to ensure that the Catskills stays weird & wonderful.
A Wedding by Another Name
Calling the event a "Soiree" is appropriate, though if you attend you'd be surprised by the lack of wedding bells. Multiple zones, each with a purpose, string musicians, passed hors d'oeuvres, specialty cocktails, oysters, a pig roast, DJs, projection art—it's all unmistakably grand.
And, when you're graciously invited to photograph such an event—you accept. No questions asked.
Indescribable
Can't write much more because it's honestly something that can't really be put into words effectively. So many people showing up, showing support, helping to make the magic. Truly remarkable.
